  1. Introduction to planning.
    • Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) scheme aims to provide assistance to educated unemployed persons. It deals with the establishment of self-employment enterprises through industry services and business avenues.
    • The scheme is for all educated unemployed persons in the age group of 18-35 years, with an age relaxation of 10 years for SC/STs, ex-servicemen, physically handicapped persons and women. The scheme has a reservation of 22.5% for SC/STs and 27% for Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
    • All economically viable activities including agriculture and allied activities but excluding direct agricultural operations like raising of crops, purchase of fertilizers etc. are covered under the scheme.

  4. How much loan amount is given?
    • Rs. 1.00 lakh for business sector, Rs. 2.00 lakh for other activities, Rs. 10.00 lakh for joint venture.
  5. How much subsidy and margin money?
    • The subsidy is 15% of the project cost subject to a maximum of Rs. 7,500 per entrepreneur. Banks will be allowed to take margin money from the entrepreneur ranging between 5% to 16.25% of the project cost to make the total amount of subsidy and margin money equal to 20% of the project cost.
  6. What is the interest rate and repayment schedule?
    • The bank’s normal rate of interest is charged. The repayment period of the loan amount varies from 3 to 7 years.
  7. Will there be any training or any other support?
    • Yes, there will be training. Training expenses and operational expenses will be covered within Rs 2,000/- per case.

  9. What documents are required?
    • Applicable form completed in all respect.
    • Proof of residence in the concerned district (Voter I-card / Ration card)
    • Date of Birth (Birth Certificate / School Leaving Certificate).
    • Proof of education qualification.
    • Training completed, if any, Family Income Certificate.
    • Applicant Caste Certificate
  10. What is the response time?
    • An interview of the accepted applicants is conducted within 2 weeks of receiving the applications. The result of the interview is declared on the same day.
